DS is 6. He has been eating loads of blackberries lately, and cleaning his teeth this morning, I noticed what looks like a tiny blackberry seed wedged firmly into the fissure of one of his lower molars, towards the back of the tooth. I've tried getting it out with brushing, flossing, tape, knotted floss, a toothpick and, in desperation, a chewy sweet that I hoped it would stick to, but it isn't shifting at all and I've become increasingly paranoid as the day's gone on in case it isn't a seed at all but is in fact a cavity. We are meticulous about teeth-cleaning and DS saw the dentist at the end of July and was given the all-clear, so would it be likely that a cavity would be able to form in such a short space of time? I'm pretty sure it wasn't there at the weekend. If it's still there tomorrow I'lm going to have to make an appointment with the dentist, aren't I? I'll be gutted if it is decay :(
