Pain in my symphasis pubis when I put weight on my right leg - not pregnant!

Help!

I've got a 4 year old and a 2.5 year old. I had SPD with both pregnancies and ended up with crutches during the first one. Suffered for some time after ds2 was born and had physio. For the past month or so, I've been getting pain in the front of my pelvis after walking. Been out for a sponsored toddle this afternoon and now can hardly walk. Feels like something is out of alignment. Particularly uncomfortable when putting weight on my right leg.

Anyone had anything like this? Can't afford to be out of action for too long!

Mumbojumbo, are you wearing different footwear, from usual, that might have tilted your pelvis in an awkward alignment? Just a guess. Hope it gets better.

Me, after DS3....

physio helped initially but a chiropractor fixed me totally.

unless its is your hormones as mine used 'grumble' on a particularly heavy period.

Hiya
Im still suffering badly with the SPD 9months after my dd has been born.
After months of physio, I am now having acupunture which does help me.
Could it be worth having a go with it?

Have you tried pilates? I had SPD (but not quite as bad as you) and found pilates really helped. Someone I know who ended up bedridden by SPD, swears by Pilates and wishes she'd done it years ago.

I've just been diagnosed with this, so interesting to read others have it too, as most people I have mentioned it to have never heard of it. I'm strapped up (very flattering for DP) as my legs give way. Awkward when I have 9 month old DS, so have to be very careful. Physio at the mo is in early days, so any tips welcome.

Hi

Thanks for all the replies. I always wear flatties so no change of shoes. Been walking a bit more recently and chasing after ds1 and ds2 who like running off in opposite directions. Have to be careful getting up off the floor. Also been having big problems with numbness/pins and needles in my hands. I guess I'm getting old! Will look into Pilates and see if I can find a class locally.

With the mention of pins and needles in your hand, I wonder if you have a trepped nerve somehwere...???

I am in no way medically trained but I get numbness and tingling in my hands/arms and it is down to nerve compression most of the time (carpal tunnel being one cause)

HTH, and you get some relief soon:)
