Why did my blood tests reveal dehydration?

Hi, I had blood tests recently and all results were fine except specialist mentioned they showed dehydration. She passed no comment nor did I as I normally go into a silent mode when dealing with these people:).Now it is playing on my mind.I should have asked why.By the way I have no illnesses except severe eczema / allergies so I am currently taking antihistamines daily.Any words of wisdom.I am kicking myself now for not asking a question.Typical me, all talk when I leave the room....

Yes I agree with you I was thinking that but was curious as to another reason maybe.

What Footle said. There are a few things that they test for when doing your bloods and some readings will be affected if you are dehydrated. It likely means you may not have been drinking enough on the day you were tested. Make sure you are drinking plenty! (Although I need to take my own advise as I am awful at drinking enough fluids in the day!)

If you don't drink much water - dont include water consumed with tea or coffee as that dehydrates you by itself - make sure you start drinking more. You should aim for about 2litres a day and your urine should be pretty much clear. If its not you probably not drinking enough.

Yes true but after doing a bit of googling around this I see there is a link (very scientific so cannot explain) between allergies and dehydration.Interesting as my allergy levels are very high.

I was going to ask actually, not about allergies, but whether there would be more tests? Seems off that it showed up in a test but the Dr didn't recommend anything to improve the situation. Either way you probably need more fluid.

Yes I agree and of course typical me did not ask a question.I am taking a few different allergy tablets unless that is a factor.I may ask the next time and start to drink more water in the mean time.
