Yes, when dd had a really bad cold and couldn't feed because she was so bunged up. They really helped, although she didn't like having them done!

Fabulous stuff. DS is 2.6 and is all he ever really has for a cold.

Its just running into her throat and making her gag a bit. I wouldnt worry. Try giving it to her before a feed?

thanks everyone. she has a terrbile dry sounding cough too - does that sound familiar? doctor says her chest is clear so not overly worried at this stage.

The first cough or/and cold is always a bit of worry.

Have you tried raising the head of her cot/moses basket, bowl of hot water in bedroom etc...It may aid sleep a bit.

How old is she ? dd was quite congested as a a newborn and they even "vaccuumed" her but it made little difference for the first few week or so. Do watch out though as it turned out she also had reflux but went undiagnosed for a while.

Have you got an\link{http://www.thebabycatalogue.com/prodinfo.asp?number=H1078\ aspirator} to use too - squeeze in the saline drops then suck it all out ! We were issued them in a newborn pack from our Swiss paediatrician and they are used by all ages there !

They gave me saline drops with ds to treat what turned out to be whooping cough. Didn't do a whole heap of good, surprisingly...

[We got the "oh, his chest is clear so it's not anything to worry about", too. It took three weeks of projectile vomiting and turning blue in front of a HV and the doctor before they agreed with me that maybe it was something to be concerned about. Grrr]
