Breathe.

Relax.

Go to a happy place.

Take a neurofen.

....

Then I'll tell you whether it hurt Grin

like a smear but a short sharp little tug - can get a bit crampy afterwards but nothing horrendous

It's the same as having a smear no worse. I did feel a little faint after and had to lie down and have a biscuit and cuppa. Bit like after MMR's when you have to wait 10 minutes to make sure you don't get a bad reaction.

Good luck btw! You'll be fine!

Sorry - must be the heat bringing out inner devilment

No it didn't cause me significant pain. If you're on co-codamol, I expect you'll feel a tugging sensation in the cervical area and a couple of minor twinges. I wouldn't pay to repeat the experience, but you've no need to worry....

It's fine. Just like a smear.

I had one fitted 3 weeks ago, I thought it didn't hurt at all, did bleed a bit afterwards and am still bleeding every now and again, not much so just wear practical knickers. Also I could feel it like a scratchy feeling not so much anymore, haven't it checked in 3 weeks so will talk about that, oh and I get a bit backpain like peroid pain, but its nothing much and apparently it does take a little while to totally settle down but then doesn't need changing for 5 years, so I think it must be worth it, certainly don't want anymore babies at the moment! Smile Its fine just relax.

Didn’t feel a thing when they put it in almost 4 years ago – didn’t feel a thing when they took it out last week….

Coming it to report that flame has had coil fitted.

(and to update any comfused, psychoflame are 2 bestfriends who are psychomum5 and flameboo when apart, psychoflame when together:))

Flame is all nice and woozy as before going took some syndol to calm herself down as she was very very agitated and got herself in rather a state about it. Her smears are never a good experience and she thought that if the coil fitting was the same or worse, she was going to be on the ceilingGrin! (this comes from me who had a general when mine was put in, altho mine was done at the same time as endometriosis treatment, so I had a distict lack of any ability to calm herWink)

she says......her tummy hurts:(. they gave her a local inside anaesthetic (which she says is most strange...numb in places that shouldn't be!), and so the actual putting in didn't hurt, just felt like 'poking'! nurse was lovely...held flames hand throughout...flame was good, didn't cut off circulationWink. They did look slightly concerned tho apparently...maybe cos she was more nervous than is normal, or maybe cos she was off her face on syndolGrin.

all in all, she seems glad its all over but wouldn't do it again any time soonWink. that said, she wouldn't do babies anytime soon either, so I guess that says more now on the painGrinWink

thankyou all lots for the messages...:)
