dressedupnowheretogo · 12/06/2006 11:14

sweetmonkey · 12/06/2006 11:15

i'd seonf sudocream as i burnt my shoulder last weekend and it really helped

sweetmonkey · 12/06/2006 11:15

should have been "i'd second".

Fresh aloe vera mixed with lavender essential oil is brilliant but obviously not easy to do if you don't have an aloe vera plant on your kitchen window sill. If you ever see one for sale it's well worth getting one for the kitchen, excellent for burns etc.

pure aloe vera gel is great, slap on loads and loads for best results. it takes quite a few mins to sink in, but worth it, you get almost instant results. and its very cooling. its quite cheap ad well.
make sure its 100% gel, and not just an aloe lotion or cream.

Thanks, does the the sudocreme ease the redness? I am going to my parents on Tuesday and they will be v.angry if I am red and feel a bit embarrased at how I look so am desperate to get rid of it!

Gloworm, can I buy that in Holland and Barretts?

probably smurf, but try not to get their own-brand stuff as usually very crappy. an independant health shop would probably have better quality one.

JackieNo · 12/06/2006 11:25

They've got it \link{http://www.hollandandbarrett.com/pages/azsearch.asp?xs=231092110E584AFBA2BA71DF91421ED9&SearchText=A&Page=2#D515\online}, smurfgirl (click on 'aloe vera gel'), so prob do have it in the shopSmile.

sweetmonkey · 12/06/2006 11:25

yeah the sudocreme got rid of the redness, the itchiness, the soreness. v good

i remembered to use suncream this weekend though. thank goodness

JackieNo · 12/06/2006 11:26

Didn't know that H&B's own brand wasn't very good Gloworm - think I've bought it from Forever Living before now, which worked OK.

Smurfgirl · 12/06/2006 11:29

Ok well I can get it from my local healthfood shop tomorrow if H&B only have their own brand. Thanks for the tip!

I will def buy some Sudocreme. Thanks so much for the tips Smile

I am also buying some suncream today! Didn;t intend to be outside for so long yesterday.

jackie, H&B are generally known as a cheap brand, not a quality brand. they dont seem to train their staff or give good reliable advice. they never seem to sell the really good brands that other health shops sell.
i think its a case of you get what you pay for.
