I had a c section 4 months ago. Not really had any problems as such but I do have some symptoms now:
--It hurts to poop and it stings also when it comes out (this has been there from the beginning, but hasn't stopped even when taken lactoluse helped a bit but not completely)
--Have an achy/crampy type pain on the left side of my lower abdomen.
--Had bad headache/felt sick since yesterday not sure if related?

I was wondering what this might be as it's a bit bothersome and it makes holding DD hard because it aches when she presses against it and if she accidently kicks at it.

Has anyone got any ideas what this might be and if I need to go to the doctors, or just see how it goes?

I would definitely go to the doctors to be certain, but just to say I had an EMC and had plenty of discomfort and pain for almost 8 months. Docs explained that although muscles mend relatively fast that your nerves can take longer and therefore you can experience odd pains, aches etc for a long time afterwards. Also as mine was an emergency I had been torn a bit through the muscle on one side, which explained why I always had more pain on one side, but I only knew this when my birth notes were reviewed with me as part of a trying to come to terms with dreadful experience. Basically talk to your doc, if you are feeling poorly in yourself then you definitely should as you could have an infection which can be easily treated now but if left could be more troublesome to shift.

Thank you.

Sorry you had a bad time with your section.

Mine was emergency too as had pre eclampsia, so it could possibly explain it. I just found it odd as it's only happened the last few days, so wondered why it took so long to surface, iyswim?

Will go see doctors anyway they can only say 'it's fine' or 'lets take a further look' can't they?

I hope you feel a lot better now and feel a lot happier (or as happy as you can be in these situations) about what happened to you when you gave birth.

The thing that gets you through that is you get an amazing baby out of it, so not all is a bad experience. :)

Thanks all good now, took a while but in the end just realised how lucky we were not to live in a third world country or things would've been v different, hooray for the NHS!

Some of the pains I got only started later and I was told this was because the nerve endings were only just mending so I couldn't have felt it before, so this could be the same for you also?

And yes the doc can reassure you or take a look into it further if needs be, so hope it goes well.
