Do you think its real for her? or is she playing a game with you?

If you think it could be real i'd be tempted to speak to your GP about it.

The chances are though she's got a clever imagination and thinks its a great excuse to get out of trouble.

im not sure if it is real or not its hard to tell. the arguing with herself she does in her bedroom without anyone around but we have over heard her, she does different voices when she argues with herself and swears at herself etc. she has been to docs before they think its normal teenage behaviour but as i dont have a teenager i wouldn't know.

If you have concerns, you can press for further investigation, ask for a referral to the mental health team who would be the experts on the subject.

I have worked with teenagers in the past, who have mental health problems, and hear voices etc. I think the important thing in getting them help, is for them to 'want' it - what does your daughter think about it? Does she get upset by it? Is she very open?

If you don't want to go down the official route of getting referrals, there may be a youth counselling service in your area where she could talk to a counsellor about what she is going through. Although sometimes these counselling services need a referral from a professional - your GP?

Good luck xx
