Hi all. Does this sound like anal fissures? When I go for a poo it feels like my anus is tearing and feels like I'm pooing broken glass :( everytime there is blood too. It stings for a little while after then it's ok until the next time I go...

It's making me scared to go to the loo as it bloody hurts so much Blush what can I buy to help? I know I need to go to the docs but scared he will stick his finger up my arse but will take weeks for an appt TIA :)

You need to make sure your motions are as soft as possible drink loads of water juices soft fruit and lots and lots of fibre. I've had a fissure for 30 years it heals up then I get constipated and it opens up again. I also suffer with piles so I've been to the hospital with it a few times its not nice when they stick their finger up but theres worse things in the world.

I'd go to the doctor if I were you. I had a really bad, persistent one after giving birth. I was given some cream and a spray, both containing an anaesthetic and a cortisone steroid and it's cleared up now. There was something even more effective that they could've prescribed but I couldn't use it whilst breast feeding.

Also, I found using moist toilet wipes helped quite a lot.

Me too OP.

I have had a few weeks of terrible pain with what I thought was piles, turns out it is piles AND a fissure.

I am scheduled for surgery/banding on the piles and botox in the fissure. It must be bad enough for that.

All I can say is keep drinking a lot of water, eat soft fruits and try and keep your poos soft. Don't strain, wait until it is ready to come out?

Get to the docs. Yes, they make want to stick a finger up your jacksy - but if it will assist in getting treatment then a minute of embarrassment is worth it.

If you are offered painkillers avoid anything with codeine in. (I learnt this to my cost!) The codeine is renowned for causing constipation - which is definitely not what you want.

Hope you get it sorted out.

I've had piles banded it was painless but they can come back. I've got a polyp on my anus lovely eh and I'm unsure what to do about it

sounds more like piles.

Sensible thing to do for a polyp in that area is to have it removed. I didn't, for various reasons, it turned cancerous, as they can do, and now I wish I'd had it done .
