Pins and needles sensation in my little finger. What is it?

I feel silly for posting this but would like to know. I've had a pins and needles sensation in the little finger on my right hand for over a month now and I'd like it to go back to normal. I will be seeing my gp anyway next week, but would feel daft mentioning it, though I think I should. Has anyone got advice or suggestions for me, please? TIA

Hi Ivor - I have heard of you but don't know about your family so this may be a silly comment coming your way! it's just that I get a similar sensation for a few days if i hold DS (who is now 10 months) resting on 1 arm for too long. although if you have 14 year old kids, for example, that is a completely redundant thought and you are more than welcome to ignore my rambling! :)

Is it cold too ? You should mention it to your GP, I doubt it's anything serious but it's likely that they will be able to do a few bloods and find out what it is.

Thank you both for your posts. I thought the same as you, kipper22, as I'd been sorting out the kids' pencil drawers and had been sharpening all their pencils the previous evening. I would have expected it to go back to normal shortly afterwards even if I had done the same action repetitively and it was at the beginning of May. (My kids are 12 and 11, btw) Smile

My circulation is very poor anyway, NDP, so I probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference. I am the person who still has cracked hands and cold hands and feet in May! I will mention it to my GP. The appointment is for my regular blood test anyway, so he'll probably just need to do a couple of extra ticks on the boxes if he wants to test for anything extra. Thanks again, both.

Just a quick update incase anyone comes back to this thread. I saw my gp and he said that it's probably fine but to go back in 2 months if it hasn't gone away completely by then. He did take blood and ticked a few extra boxes as I thought he might. Thanks again to kipper22 and NDP.
