They can make you sleepy (think they are codeine and paracetamol?)
I have sciatica, an use ibuprofen through the day and the codeine/paracetamol at night
It may be short lasting, if not go back and try to get referral for physio. They might give you something to stop muscle spasms too

Yeah emuz its the fancy name for co-codimol so me mum tells me. The side effects I'm having are common happens to her and my sd. Also said like you about ibuprofen in the day and strong stuff in the evening. I wonder if diclofenac instead of ibrufen? May last longer as stronger than ibrufen and may not need the co codimol plus it doesn't give me side effects. Its so difficult with the pain the side effects of tablets and a demanding two year old Lol. Hot bath pain killers and bed for me I think.

Try hot bath, sometimes either heat or ice works well
Diclofenac might work, I have diazepam for when its really bad as cant take diclofenac

I have had diazapam in the past for back spasms I had siatica in right side on and off for 10yrs ( my first pregnancy set it off) but now its more so left side affected and lower back is so tender heavy feeling in legs tingling in left foot feels like a rubber bands about to snap :(

Try to walk a little too. And squat rather than bend, just be very conscious of your posture
If you sleep on your side, a pillow between your knees can help

OK thanks for your advice emuz I will try that too and thanks for listening to me moan about my aches and pains :)

If it's started recently then ice it for 20 mins at a time rather than heat. Use heat after a few days to relieve muscle spasms. Tell your doc you're not tolerating the drugs and ask for something else. I hate the way those opiates make you feel. Good luck!

I've had sciatica a few times and been left completely bed bound. Absolute best cure I've had is a trip to the Osteopath. Totally cured. If you are on a budget The British School Of Osteopathy offers it for £10 per session if you are a concession.
