I have one of these on till Wednesday, it has two sticky pads one in the middle of my chest and one on the left ribs.
My skin is so sore though and started blistering under the pads, I have an advice number but not open til Monday, wondering wether to just grit my teeth or give in now and rip them off.
Anyone had problems with it too?

my mum has just had one of these fitted. The advice was that if there was irritation to move the pads slightly but if it was severe to remove and abandon the test. If its blistering i would be inclined to remove it - they can always re-start it on monday? You have had it on since Thursday? so thats three days if it was on in the morning, there may be enough information on there anyway. My mum had this before and did find it irritating, yes.

Thanks lem, I didn't get any advice about irritation so was unsure, will try and persevere till morning and see what my skin looks like when I take it off for a shower.

I've always had itching from the pads/electrodes, but never the blistering. If it's that bad, I'd suggest you remove them. There must be a hypoallergenic alternative.

I've had monitoring three times and only once had actual welts from the pads, slght irritation the other times but once left big raised marks that took a week or so to clear.
Nurse definitely made sure they were well stuck on that time.
If you've had it on for three days I'd give up.

You might be allergic to the pads.

Take it off and call them monday.

Have you had any episodes of whatever they are looking for? If you have then they can use that data.

There are monitors that you just hold to your chest but people tend not to use them properly so electrodes are used.

If you still need monitoring they should be able to give you a pack of electrodes so that you can put new ones in a slightly different location. Your GP might be able to give you some.

It sounds like they are making a bipolar recording which means they can record with the electrodes almost anywhere as long as one is at one side of your heart and the other is at the other side, so you can actually record from your wrists and feet - although the cable isn't long enough to do that.

If you do relocate / change electrodes make a note in your diary (They should have given you a diary to record symptoms) when you did it and if there is an 'event' button on the monitor press that.
