Shoulder pain ? tendonitis

Horribly painful anterior shoulder, 2 weeks now, getting worse, esp after driving left shoulder so seems to be aggrevated by changing gear. Restricted movements. Female 40s

Trying ice, NSAIDS, Deep heat, regular 4 hourly painkillers.

Really difficult to sleep, waking hourly and crying much of day as every little movement seem to jar it. Am only comfortable when arm is held across chest in sling like position.

Geting worse. Seeing physio in am but GP has suggested steroid injection.

Anyone got any ideas?

Try acupuncture - I know it sounds woo, but its amazing for tendonitis. I've had a painful stuck shoulder, and in 3 sessions with a private physio, the combination of massage, manipulation and acupuncture has nearly sorted it

I've had all those symptoms when my frozen shoulder (s ) have been in the acute phase .
But shoulders are complicated and you get those symptoms with some other shoulder problem .
I think you need a proper diagnosis so that you can get correct treatment .
Gp ? though personally I'd recommend an osteopath .

It's horribly painful ,you have my sympathy . If you see GP dont forget ( how could you ) to stress night time disturbance .
All the GPs I've seen seem to respond more quickly to this as a symptom .

sounds like the symptoms I had when I had frozen shoulder too. If it is frozen shoulder, then restricting movement is the worst thing you could do.
I'd be looking for a proper diagnosis if I were you.

However, as awful as a steroid injection may sound, if it works then the relief is huge. For me, the injection was the turning point although i still needed a lot of physio. I'd heard good things about acupuncture too.

I have this too. Mine was atrocious about 2 weeks ago, but is more bearable now after 2 weeks of naxoprene (??), rub on gels and not spending so long on the computer. Mine kind of shoots down into the muscles in my upper arm.
