Unwell again - Advice needed on high temperature

My poor DD is unwell again. 2 weeks ago she had S&D. Now she has had some strange virus - sore throat, high temp and a rash that looks like she had been through nettles, although they didnt itch. The rash has gone hopefully due to the antibiotics. But she continues to run a high temperature.

I am currently alternating calpol and ibruprofen. This is generally keeping it down but she is hot again but now sleeping finally. She is lightly dressed. So I dont think there is much more I can do. She is most def teething at the moment too. Incisors.

Is there anything I can do to make her more comfortable when she wakes? Also at night how can we prevent her running a high temp again at 1pm?

She is eating very little but she has been drinking some. Not loads.

Thanks

Hiya, sorry for not answering sooner was putting hte chap to bed.
The rash is called urticharia and is very common during viral illness. You can give her medised (insed of calpol as this has a mild antihistamine in it that will help with the itching.)
Do not be scared if the rash comes back in the morning or when she is hot.
Also I find that letting the chap sleep in just a vest and no covers or a cotton sheet with a fan in the room help to keeping cool. Evening time is when chilren are more prone to hightemps but hopefully she will settle for you during the night.
IME a temp that will not come down desptie calpol and ibuprofen need further attention.
You could ring NHS24

Thanks for the reassurance. She seems much better today. Still clingy and Im still watching her temp but havent had to give her any calpol since her 4hourly dose ran out at 11.15. She even had a little lunch :)
