Was going to change my name but I feel it's only fair I should feel like a banana for asking something like this :)

My youngest child is 20 months old, so I should be well over the pregnancy physiologically. However I've noticed over the last few months that I seem to be having what feel like little Braxton Hicks - I can feel my uterus contracting until it's hard and then relaxing again - identical to Braxton Hicks, but I can obviously feel that the uterus is about the size of a large orange - it feels rather silly actually. Does anyone know anything about this? I've never heard of it. It isn't painful but it is quite uncomfortable. Blush

I am so relieved I could cry Blush I thought it was something to do with my terrible births/PPHs, I thought there was something badly wrong with me! Grin

I used to think that the kicking feeling might mean I was actually pregnant again, and think 'well that's why my stomach's getting bigger', but turns out it's just chocolateBlush.

monkeytrousers · 19/05/2006 20:58

yes, this is common - I think the general explanation is that you are feeling wind as baby movements - your body/memory playing tricks on you.

Tatties · 21/05/2006 12:45

But wind where your womb is? I never felt wind there before I was pregnant.

I feel so much better reading this. I get the fluttering and yougest is 6. It makes me broody every time it happens.

Pruni · 21/05/2006 19:37

It is weird, though, isn't it? As Tatties says, I never had this before I was pg...DId all that stretching cause the fake baby-movements? I feel proper little kicks, not just bubbles, and I know I didn't ever feel those until I felt them when pg.

SquarewaysHereWeCome · 21/05/2006 21:57

I agree with you Pruni - wind never feels quite like this until you have had a baby.
It has to be something to do with stretching, but lets face it, when it isn't something kicking, it is wind and this realisation that the loving feeling you get is actually for a fart that is on its way is quite levelling Grin

Grin I'll always see my farts as my little children now. Go, be free, child! Grin
