Can trapped wind really be this sore?

I've had really bad constant pain the top of my stomach / under my ribs for a few days now. It's really sore and uncomfortable. It's a constant ache. It's worst morning/night but comes on throughout the day.

I had no idea what it could be (I've had it before and the doc dismissed as constipation but I know it's not). A friend suggested trapped wind. But can trapped wind really be this painful? My stomach does feel quite bloated.

Any remedies for trapped wind in adults?

think a lot of this was caused by antibiotics - upset my stomach flora.
i've noticed i have a lot of trouble now after six with eating - certain foods seem to come up with the vomitting which relieves it for twenty mins.
I drink tea to try and loosen the sides of the stomach and see the same process happening. any foods with skins are problematic... insoluble fibre?
apple skins, tomato, potato skins from boiled potatoes, peppers, lettuce?
anything with a film like thin-ness. it's definitely linked with oil? I get the feeling it's like when your sink gets clogged with peelings or scraps. I imagine the same process is happening at the join between the stomach and the exit to the stomach. The tea helps - a couple of pints of warm tea over a couple of hours. peppermint oil helps from the doctor. i sometimes use bi carb but this rarely works, it did do the trick once. buscopan worked once only too? the tea seems best. i'm pretty sure it's linked to Gall bladder issues. Avoid all oils, butter and meat joints. large slabs of meat like chops and sausages. grease a definite factor. breads with soya flour.

Also think it sounds like gallbladder. Ask Dr to check your amylase levels and liver function. First time I went they said I had gastroentertis, second time they checked me for Helicobacter. 10 days of severe pain later they admitted me with a blocked liver duct and I had my gallbladder out. (and that was after telling them I thought I had gall stones at the first appointment!)

Does your stomach feel tender (in the middle just below your ribs). I felt like mine was wobbling about when I walked. Pain on both sides of ribs and into my back. I'm afraid nothing much will help, you just have to take the strongest painkillers you can lay your hands on and wait for it to pass.
