Should I wake a sleeping child?

My ds - seven months old - is a bit off colour (teething, cough and slight case of the squits) for the first time in his life. He has slept much longer than normal today, with a long nap this morning and his post-lunch nap still underway. With an adult I'd always say sleep is the best medicine - but will leaving a baby to sleep such a lot totally disrupt his routine and lead to a restless night? Thanks for your thoughts...

I'd say no, if he's poorly he'll need more sleep. I never wake ds unless I absolutely have to.

Hope he's feeling better today!

You are so lovely to check! His temp has been high (39, down for a bit with Calpol but then up again each time) since my last message, but the doc has now seen him and given advice on keeping his temp down and antibiotics for his throat. Last night was tough (odd that such a hot little body should want to be carried around all night) but - thank goodness - he's finally sleeping now. And I have no intention of waking him...
