Skin viral condition in ds 20 months...

didn't know what to put in the heading :)

Basically noticed a 'skintag' on ds 's side about 7 months ago, not thinking too much of then.

Started of looking like a spot without a head and then got more and more raised. Very circular in appearance, no noticable discolouration, except for the one that got scraped.

The first one kept growing and a secondary one appeard. on his tummy. Accidentally scraped it and it didn't seem to hurt him but it came off and bled forever!

Then I spotted one on his leg.

Went to see the doc with ds for something else but thought I better ask. Diagnosed a viral infect, not chickenpox but something else (can't remember the name, was latin of course). But the way the doc described it it sound like a wart type thing. She then said it'll go away by itself after a few months. When I told her that he'd had the first big one for at least 6 months she corrected herself and said it could be up to 18 months...

This morning then I noticed 2 small ones appeared in his armpit and a nest of tiny ones on his chest.

Anybody has encountered anything like that?

Will go back to the doc but not holding much esteem in her opinion iykwim. Might be unfair but it's just so frustrating.

Sounds like molloscum - ds and dd's took up to two years to go. They seem to have a bit of a crop of them and as they went others came along.

They are really common in small children.

ok so nothing to worry about :) dd never had anything like that and I've never had problem skin so was just a bit worried.

Anything that aggrovates it, e.g. creams, baths etc.?

Thread \link{http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk?topicid=138&threadid=157772&stamp=060422205250\here} about it.

There probably isn't much you can do but wait for them to go on their own. We had Fucidin cream as dd had excema too and with scratching some of them got infected, but it won't get rid of them.
