I have tweaked my back. Had a back stomach experience with ibuprofen before and I know paracetamol wont touch it any suggestions much appreciated

Paracetamol and codeine combined? Or possibly even just a heat patch on the area of your back which hurts. Or you could try painkiller gel on the area - either ibuprofen, or diclofenac ones are stronger. Get well soon!

Hate to say it ... but a suppository might be good. (And yes, I live in a French speaking country Grin) They are mad about them over here - have to say I'm a convert.

Be careful with diclofenac's - I use them for sinus headaches as they are the only ones that work - but be careful not to over-use them as they have been linked to increased risk of heart attacks and strokes (European study underway atm) .

I can't take ibruprofen and get by with co-codamol. If I get muscle pain I find Syndol helps as it's a muscle relaxant (but it does knock me out a bit).

I would be wary of diclofenac or ibruprofen gels; I can't take either as I have an ulcer and even though I don't ingest them they're off limits.

Hope you get some relief soon!

Thanks for the replies. I tried a diclofenac gel and that seems to have affected my stomach so no go. Might give the co codamol a go and the suppository if I get desparate! I think the tension in my back is affecting my stomach anyway which is annoying.
