When I do a search on here I come up with a million bad experiences, for the sake of balance I would really like to hear from anyone who has good experiences.
I am planning on getting one, have an appointment next week to go through it all, it is to manage heavy painful periods. I dont need it for contraception as dh has had a vasectomy.

I've had mine a year. Had it fitted 3 months after my DC. Took about 6 months to settle down but now it's fine. I do have periods but they are very light ands at a day or two. Having it put in was much better than expected. Bit uncomfortable bit certainly not painful. Had some cramping for a few hours afterwards.

I've had mine for about 18 months - have never looked back. Seriously it has changed my life. I had unbelievably bad periods after twins - quite bad PMT (I of course deny it, H said I was a lunatic for 48 hrs), would be doubled over in pain, prone to flooding (found myself in really embarrassing situations - just couldn't control it at all), just absolutely dreaded that time of the month. Other than work, avoided social events, going out of the house unless I had to, really became a problem. Had investigations for fibroids under GA and they said if there weren't any, they would fit the coil at the same time. A little bit of cramping afterwards but nothing too bad.

Now I'm a new woman Smile - no PMT, no pain, very little bleeding, much less washing Smile
