He and ds1 had dentist appts today, I didn't go in becasue I didn't want to get in the way, and thought DP could deal with it. They came out, he said that ds was ok and din't have to go back for 6 months. i asked what they said about ds grinding his teeth (the reason he was goiing), adn DP said he didn't ask because he didn't know that was why he was going. He bloody did know and its really annoyed me s just had to have a whinge.

Now I don't know if I should leave it til next time, or take him back in case he does damage his teeth in that time. gggrrrrrr

Look at it this way - your DSs teeth are fine now despite the grinding (which I guess he's been doing for some time?). I assume they woud have mentioned it had there been any significant damage.

GarfieldsGirl · 03/05/2006 21:11

Soupdragon - I figured that they would have noticed and said something if his grinding was doing any damage, but he's only been doing it for a couple of weeks. I'm just more anoyed with DP that he didn't bring it up, and hen caimed he didn't know. Thanks for reassurance though that they would ahve spotted it. I'll just get some earplugs so i can't hear him doing it! Grin

grrr would be v cross too. have just had major fallout with dh over his inability to say NO and mean it to ds (6)..... grrrrrrr

CHICagoMUM · 03/05/2006 21:15

How old is ds1?

CHICagoMUM · 03/05/2006 21:15

And when does he grind his teeth?

jellyjelly · 03/05/2006 21:29

Do you know that grinding teeth can ead to migraines?

GarfieldsGirl · 04/05/2006 19:10

He's 4, and there's no specific time he does it, he does it quite often when he's talking or just playing normally. If it was in his sleep, or when he's concentrating it wouldn't bother me because I know I do it then.

No I didn't realise it could lead to migraine, is that full blown migraines or just bad headaches?

Not that serious headaches aren't bad enough, but my experience of migraies are the week/10 deay lon things that make your head all fuzzy (the medical term of course!), and have flashy bright lights in front of my eyes.
