Excitement causing asthma

Does anyone elses children get an asthma attack through getting excited/emotional (in a happy way)?

This has happened to DS - aged 3- three times recently - not bad attacks, but still struggling to breathe/gasping for air, we used the blue inhaler and sat him down. Twice when I collected him from childminders, once when playing with his dad.

Would appreciate any advice on the best way to deal with it. On how to help DS learn if he is getting too excited and to calm down.

Yes, this sometimes happens with ds (6), notmaly if he is more prone anyway.....if he has a cold or something. He now knows it happens so *tends& to calm down a bit when I remind him (but not always!)

Yes! If ds laughs too much he becomes very 'tight' and needs his puffer.
