Hemp seed for eczema

LaTrucha · 04/03/2013 09:42

I have suffered from eczema for years and have heard that hemp seed freshly ground can help due to the omega 3. I've never bothered for myself but DD has just developed the same as me.

Can anyone tell me if it works, what to do and whether the bottled oil is really so much worse than freshly ground.

Also, if I do need to grind it myself, what sort of grinder do I need?

LaTrucha your post has really made me think.

Recently a huge, massively itchy patch of eczema on my arms has cleared up. I've had no idea why.

But - recently I've been trying to eat more healthily. Lots more greens and a muesli mix for breakfast. I made it myself and it's contained hemp seed.
I put far too much in - it tastes like crunchy cardboard. So, added more nuts and wheat flakes and dried fruit to make it taste better.

Maybe this has actually cleared it up.Shock Smile

It's so stupid of me not to think that my diet could have an impact on my skin

BTW this was just hemp seed from Sainsbo's. Not crushed or oil.

Have used hemp oil on my skin, that's a good way of getting it in your system. Neil's Yard used to do it but they don't anymore. Sure if you googled it some other company will stock it.

You can also buy it to cook with - not sure if this is OK for skin, but maybe OK for arms and legs.

That's interesting. It might be worth me just buying some oil and putting it in DDs food. I'm sure she wouldn't eat the seeds anyway.

No problem. I think it's pretty pricey but I'm going to try it myself.
