Back pain

9 months ago I woke up with back pain. Had been losing weight and (very gradually) starting to run well jog really!
So I have had an MRI and X-ray. Some arthritic type changes and 3 slipped discs. Seen physio. Doing rehab type work at the gym. Consultant tried injection in spine. GP did bloods.
Well I still hurt! Any ideas? Physio suggested TENS.
I know you are not all spinal surgeons and physios but what has worked for you? TENS? Acupuncture? Chiropractor?
Can you tell I'm getting desperate?

Has you physio given you exercises to do at home? If so, how often are you doing them? I found that to start with I needed to do them every hour - my back pain was so bad I couldn't walk. Within 3 weeks I felt a lot better!
Also, what painkillers have you been prescribed? Make sure you take them as they will help you keep moving about plus the anti-flammatories help, well, reduce any inflammation!
TENS is also good. My physio also used an ultrasound on my slipped disc - not sure how it works but it helped.
I wouldn't personally use a chiropractor but I have been to an osteopath a few times when I felt my back had tensed up and I couldn't loosen it with the physio exercises alone.
Unfortunately, once you have slipped discs there is no cure and you can get relapses so the best thing to do is make sure you keep doing core strength exercises and are careful about lifting things etc to minimise risk.

Hope some of this helps and you feel better soon.

Bless you tennis. I have exercises to do 2x a day and massage to do as much as possible. (My muscles go into spasm.) I go to the gym 3x a week too. I am working on core strength as (long story!) I have none!
What is the difference between osteopath and chiropractor?

To be honest I'm not sure of the difference Blush

Also trying walking and swimming (front crawl only though!)
