Ok I don't need to ring 999, I'm pretty certain I have pluricy, pain for two weeks but steadily got worse in the last 24 hours just unsure wether to go to out of hours tomorrow or wait it out till Monday.
Thanks

Don't be silly, at least phone NHS direct or 24. What if you are wrong and it is a pulmonary embolism or something which started off small but could be getting bigger. Worse case scenario you could be dead by morning which would certainly take the decision out of your hands.
You are obviously worried enough to check and with good reason.

Please don't ignore this till tomorrow- we have access to 24hr healthcare for a reason.

ggirl · 01/02/2013 22:56

pleurisy
have you got a temp?

as it's worse you should get seen tonight

have you seen a Dr at all?

Lifeisontheup · 01/02/2013 22:58

If you put in any chest pain it will always say dial 999.

TheOriginalNutcracker · 01/02/2013 23:02

I think you should go to a&e.

YellowShoes · 01/02/2013 23:04

I've had pluricy before, I saw the go a week ago who thought my chest sounded clear, I have a complicated medical history, and I'm terrified of being admitted.
My temp has been ok a few peaks but nothing drastic, I've been taking the full wack of co codimol for the last week.
I'm not coughing up, just agony if I take a deep breath of cough or sneeze.
I've had previous lung surgery so, the scarring does cause pain.
Just terrified of getting admitted especially on a weekend.

Jinsei · 01/02/2013 23:04

Please don't leave it - better safe than sorry. Ring 999 or go to A&E.

ggirl · 01/02/2013 23:07

well you could get it checked out in a&e to rule out clot , then they may be happy for you to be discharged

WhereMyMilk · 01/02/2013 23:09

Definitely go then...

YellowShoes · 01/02/2013 23:10

Can't explain the terrified feeling of being admitted,
I know I'm not at deaths door just in a lot of pain, when I've had pluricy before I've just had stronger pain killers.
I have a very rare condition so I know if I go tonight they'll keep me in, :(

OP posts:
ggirl · 01/02/2013 23:11

you could phone your out of hours number and talk to someone about it
you do know they cannot keep you in if you refuse

Thanks both I can't explain just can't bring myself to go in, I will go in the morning if no better, just realised I'm posting incognito I'm usually a large glass of something.
Unfortunately I've had the experience before with pluricy pain they will do a ct due to previous problems which means staying in. :(

OP posts:
oldebaglady · 01/02/2013 23:19

they can't force you to stay in, you are free to self discharge if it gets to that

You can't know that you are not at deaths door but I hope you are right. I'm not sure what you expected to get out of this thread as you have clearly made your decision.
Good luck.

NorthernLurker · 01/02/2013 23:23

I think you're being a bit foolish about this. You know you have a longstanding problem and you have worsening pain. Are you waiting till you can't breathe? Hmm

Don't be a dafty trousers - get thee to A&E and get better not worse!

YellowShoes · 01/02/2013 23:25

Thanks if gets worse I will, won't leave it till Monday now will do the out of hours,
I haven't got a very high temp, breathing a bit fast but nothing to drastic so I 'm sure I'm ok till wait till morning.

OP posts:
yousankmybattleship · 01/02/2013 23:28

Why post a message implying you need to go to A&E and then say you won't because of some mystery phobia? Only you know if you should go. If you're worried go to A&E. They can't force you to be admitted, but could put your mind at rest. If you think you're ok, then go to bed and see how you feel in the morning. Simples.

Lifeisontheup · 02/02/2013 08:48

You don't have to ring 999 to go to A & E, you can take yourself off there, it won't make any difference to how quickly you're seen.
It sounds like you know your own body pretty well though and NHS direct are notorious for telling people to ring 999.

crashdoll · 02/02/2013 10:03

I do empathise with you but you need to think rationally. That said, I know when you're scared, it's hard to think clearly. Go to A&E and get checked out. They can't force you to stay but they may be able to give you some medication and/or rule out anything else.

Think what you would say to yourself if that person was someone you loved. If you pop along now, hopefully it won't be too busy. Please look after yourself.

GobblersKnob · 02/02/2013 10:34

How are you this morning? I remember your previous threads under your other name and I get why you are scared Smile

Hope you are okay (((((hugs))))))

LargeGlassofRed · 02/02/2013 10:47

Thanks all, went to the out of hours first thing, have pluricy and chest infection, so have antibiotics and stronger painkillers.
Was lucky that one of the GP's from my practice saw me so didn't have to go through whole history.

ggirl · 02/02/2013 10:50

great, hope you're feeling better soon.

LargeGlassofRed · 02/02/2013 18:06

Argh still in so much pain :(

LargeGlassofRed · 02/02/2013 18:35

And although it feels like I have a fever, tempreture really low.
