DD has conjunctivtus & I need to get drops in her eyes 4 times a day. We're having a right old fight everytime I do it, has anyone got any suggestions on what is the best way to do this? please?

i was about to post 'with great difficuty' but not very helpful
i waited til he was asleep and ready to wake up then pulled back eye lid and dropped!!!
problem is if you need to do it more than afew times a day though
i asked for cream with conjunctivitus as it is much easier to apply - do ask for the cream next time - much better!

The drops come in a box with a slip of paper. I found it very useful to put the box in one baby hand and the paper in the other. If I then moved really quickly, I could get in the drops while he was distracted by these fascinating objects and didn't make his usual swipes!

JASMUM - this is the hardest thing to do, my dd is prone to conjuntivitus so have had lots of practise putting drops in - and it's still hard. Sounds cruel but I have to pin her down to do it. My gp did say that if she shut her eye, you could out the drop on her eyelid near the corner and when she opened her eye it would drip in. I know this isn't much help - but good luck I know how difficult it is.

We did swapsies - I had a little contact lense wetting solution which DS2 would do on me and then I could his with his drops, but it was a hassle. We got the cream instead, second time around.

We have the same problem - the cream stuff (Fucithalmic) only has to be given twice a day, which is better, but is also pretty hard to get in!
