Has anyone used these and are they anygood?

OP posts:
supakids · 24/04/2006 14:23

Yep, seemed to.

mazzystar · 24/04/2006 14:24

not those in particular but the boots and nelson's versions or a crushed up chamomilla homeopathic remedy. does seem to calm little ones down when teething or over-tired and irritable.

Feistybird · 24/04/2006 14:24

yes, soothed my DD1 (who got every tooth in her head through between 13 weeks old and 9 months).

Janmad · 24/04/2006 14:26

How is the best way to use them?

OP posts:
supakids · 24/04/2006 14:31

just sprinkle the powder over the gums

burstingbug · 24/04/2006 14:34

New Era homoepathic infant teething pain tissue salts are really quite good. 450 little tablets for about £4.49 in Holland & Barrets.

I have used boots and nelsons teething powders, also have tried A&P's. but you dont get many in a pack and you still pay over £4 for them.

burstingbug · 24/04/2006 14:37

The New Era tablets are also much easier to give than those little packets of powder.
The claim to be safe, natural and non-habit forming.
Dissolve 2 tablets on the tounge 3 times a day at feeding time or when pain is acute, give 2 tablets dissolved in warm water every 15 minutes.

mazzystar · 24/04/2006 14:41

any chamomilla remedy should be better value, too, just crush between two spoons (plastic not metal) and pop it in their mouth. make sure you don't touch the tablets though as this can undermine their effectiveness.

I agree with Hausfrau.DD2 can be screaming because of her teeth, but after a dose of A & P,she is happy as larry. We can hear her 'muttering' to herself happily, like an old drunk, then she just falls asleep.

Bayleaf used to call it 'baby cocaine'& I know why now!Grin

Janmad · 25/04/2006 12:03

Can they be used along with other medicine? e.g Calpol? My dd has turned from happy baby to clingy and tearful since her teething started!! She has 4 coming at once at the top...poor thing I have given her calpol but I will crack open the A&P asap!

louismummy · 25/04/2006 12:24

A and P's are brilliant, we just pour the contents into DD's mouth.

and as an extra they've been around for donkeys years, my mum used them on me and my siblings ( 4 of us) and her mum on herand her siblings ( 8 of them) both would never use anything else!

Janmad · 25/04/2006 12:40

DD is recovering from a nasty stomach bug. Would it be ok to give her A&P or should I wait until she 100% ok?

ds main teething problem is it causes him to be sicky again (he settled down once we started weaning) and i find the powders really help settle his stomach.

Orinoco · 26/04/2006 21:14

fab fab fab!!

Instant cure for teething pain - and I've seen instant - and also not bad at settling upset stomaches.

mandymac · 26/04/2006 21:23

Another vote for Ashton & Parsons here. DD opens her mouth for them like a baby bird.

Lact8 · 26/04/2006 21:41

We love them in this house, babies for the pain relief, everyone else for the ear relief! Smile

Janmad · 27/04/2006 15:28

I think they are working!!! yipee How often can I give them??

OP posts:
shimmy21 · 27/04/2006 15:35

I loved them because they are so old-fashioned. I loved the way they came in a little fold of crispy paper and even the name is old sounding. Are they still like that? No idea if they worked but we always enjoyed giving them to ds. Made us feel beter at least.

Coolmama · 27/04/2006 15:37

I think it says you can give them every hour if baby is really upset, but I found that I never had to give that much - one powder generally did the trick.

Best thing ever. Recommended to me and I recommend them to everyone, plus they're homeopathic too
