I'm on no ? 3 maybe. Had one changed top early once. No periods for a decade.

Mike - I had quite strong cramps for about a month, in the end the dr prescribed me something to calm them down.

Cramps are ridiculous tonigjt. I take strong painkillers and muscle relaxants for something else and the cramps are still keeping me awake :(

Belly is even more fat than normal too.

The anaesthetic is Instillagel It's lignocaine.

It's used to stop spasm in the cervix. My cervix was in such spasm that the Doctor gave me TNT spray as well!

Oh wish I'd known all this when I had my first (now on my third). After the birth of DS2 my periods were so heavy and so frequent. My sister in law worked at a well known family planning organisation, she enquired on my behalf. They recommended the Mirena. Went to my doctors and suggested it, and he nearly bit my head off! Basically said my only option was a hysterectomy, I put up with these periods for another three years! The first four years of my sons life is a bit of a blurr. I went to the local family planning in desperation, was seen by a lovely elderly doctor who was volunteering, she was very blue stocking, she said you sound like a prime candidate for a Mirena!! I burst into tears. I don't care about the discomfit of having it fitted and removed, it gave me my life back!!

Collie personally I couldn't function properly for about 4 hours after I had mine. I had really bad cramps. But you might be different.

Yes I was the same, although it took a while before they would let me go as I felt faint and my blood pressure was all over the place. The first time I went I thought it would be a bit like a smear test. ( Hence the hairdressing appointment! ) It wasn't, brought back memories of labour pains, which I suppose is what it is as the body try's to expel a foreign body.

i had mine at 9.30 was at hairdressers at 12
