Anyone used Rectogesic/Anoheal

I am in agony with my fissures since the birth of my son 3 months ago. My GP prescribed rectogesic cream but I really don't want to use it. I can't risk the side effects as on my own with DS a lot. Also, the NHS says not to use it if breast feeding. Spoke to doctor about breast feeding concerns. She said it would be fine...still haven't used it!

Today has been a shocking day for the pain. Since BM this morning it has been agony and I have been crying pretty much constantly!I have changed my diet to fruit and veg and lots of water to no avail. Taking movicol after the lactulose stopped working but this seems no better. So scared of eating.

Been reading old threads about Anoheal but they are all quite old so though I would ask for people's experiences of both creams so I can speak to doctor again tomorrow. I also have large piles and the fissures seem to start at the bottom (ha ha) of them. Worried the Rectogesic will make them worse. Also, it seems to be connected to my episiotomy scar which hurts at the same time. Aaarrrggh, help!

There is a very easy cure for fissures and it does not require surgery or medication and even works on chronic fissures too. I have personally tried and can vouch for it. It is organic castor oil. Just apply a generous amount before bowel movement. Use a wipe instead of toilet paper and then apply afterwards as well. Again apply a generous amount at night time and in a week your fissure issues would be markedly reduced.
If your fissures hurt a lot then buy a portable bidet from Amazon, fill with as hot water as you can and put some cocunut oil in it around 2 tablespoons. Sit for 20 minutes and it will take the edge of the pain and itching. Take a pain killer if it hurts because you need to break the cycle of pain. You won't need painkillers after 3 days. If you need to add stool softener then liquid paraffin works best for fissures as it lubricates from inside too. It is available in most pharmacies and does not cause stomach issues like other laxatives.
The only reason some people get fissures is because they have dry skin which tears easily. May be use a delicate soap.
I did the above and got rid of my fissures and I used everything gnt, diltiazem, anusol, anoheal and whole lot of other things. Some worked for a few days , others did more harm. Had a fissure for 6 years.
Try it , may be it works for you. A little word of warning , castor oil stains - a liner might help.

@CeceJo it did help, but it took ages for him to get it and he was eventually referred as an emergency because it had gone on so long - but that's the state of the NHS these days.

Can I use Rectogesic 4 mg atthe same time as xyloproct 50 mg?

Id probably check with your pharmacist/GP just in case of interactions.
