SPD flare up 2 years later?

It never really went away, but is now as bad as it was when I was pregnant over 2 years ago. The pain is very variable, some days pain free, some days I can barely hobble around.

I have seen GP (who was useless) & I'm seeing a physio next week. Is it even possible it could still be SPD after all this time? Has anyone else had this?

hello from a fellow spd sufferer(4 years on), i have been seeing a chiropractor since may and cannot believe how much better i am, i also started taking some herbal tablets to regulate hormones as Spd is often related to the pregnancy hormones that loosen your ligaments.
In my experience if it isn't better now, get to a chiropractor, i wish i did earlier, in the mean time get a good support belt, this will ease it.
Good luck.x

Yes my youngest us twk yrs and mine flares up. Cold weather doesnt help. My period makes it flare up and i lost weight recently, so my jeans were loose, that made it worse. Tight jeans help hold my pelvis steady.

My SPD always flares up when I'm on my period so seems to have hormonal link. Now on 3rd pregnancy and by 16 weeks my SPD was so bad I could barely get downstairs. Started seeing osteopath weekly and am now almost pain free (at 26 weeks). It's an absolute miracle. I have to say I was very sceptical at the beginning but having tried physio in previous pregnancies (which didn't work and I ended up on crutches) I was desperate to try something else.
Definitely worth seeing specialist osteo tho, I go to expectant mothers clinic at the British school of osteopathy in borough if you happen to be in London.

Things like pushing a heavy door open with my foot or getting in the car without my knees together can still give me a twinge many years on!

Yes heavy doors and walking up/down hill make my sod flare up.

Not sod!! SPD bloody auto correct.

Are you pregnant again OP? Ligament laxity due to hormonal changes will aggravate it.

Mine got better once my twins were born, then reappeared when they were about six and I've had it ever since. I think it may have been triggered by going ice-skating. Pilates helps.
