Having issues with my own health while bf that I am pretty sure means my insides are actually permanently damaged from the coeliac disease I have that went undiagnosed for 17 years. I seem to be deficient in something so my body does not absorb the water I drink but it goes straight through me. This leads to a constantly dry mouth and very hard, painful and blood producing stools. I can manage it by taking pregnacare vit tablets and drinking a couple of mugs of milk a day, but whenever DS has a growth spurt it reoccurs until he is feeding normally again. I eat lots of fruit, veg, meat, and try to hardly eat any empty calorie unhealthy foods at all so it is not diet. Just not sure what else I can do really...

Try your GP as they can arrange bloods and any necessary tests. I wonder whether a referral to a dietician regarding the coeliac disease might also be helpful?

My husband had Ulceritive Colitis, he now has a bag and is really prone to dehydration. I'm not sure if this would help but he was advised NOT to drink plain water as this just goes straight through the body (obviously for most people this is perfect). he was advised to drink fruit juices, squash, milk, coke, lucazade etc..they said that your body absorbs this liquid and this helps stop dehydration.

Are they sure it's coeliac and not UC or crohn's?
