Sent home from nursery today, proud of her spots, bouncing around like normal.

Whats the best anti-itch cream? do we go with Calomine lotion, bicarb solution or is there a good one you used

I'm all for gaffa taping her hands behind her back for a few days but DW says no
any suggestions welcome

Aww, poor little mite ... can I send dd round to give her a dose of measles as well?

Apparently calamine cream is better than the lotion - Boots do a calamine and glycerine cream, or you can buy Caladryl or Benadryl over the counter. The lotion is very drying and makes the itching worse.

Get some porridge oats, put them into the foot of an old sock or pair of tights, and hang it from the tap when you run her bath, it's very soothing.

Hope she feels better soon.

aw bles. you can give piruton syrup for itching as well, it does cause drowsiness though so your DD may be sleepy after taking it.

My sister's ds currently has chicken pocks and I'm almost waiting for DS to get it as they go to the same nursery.

Yes by all means bring dd round for a playdate we've already made the offer to the nursery if anyone there wants to too.

porridge oats sound interesting,
thanks for the tip on the cream

I don't think you really want dd there, carl, I was joking ... she has measles, and while I might want to get chickenpox out of the way I don't think both at the same time is a good idea!
