I need some serious handholding. It seems I may have cancer

I had a biopsy on a thyroid nodule a week ago. Just had a call from hospital and consultant wants to see me next week.

Shit. It is not going to be good news.

I am booked in for surgery as it is almost certain I have thyroid cancer.

The tamoxifen thread has been a lifesaver.

I am pretty shocked but was prepared as I would not have been called back otherwise.

Penis, sending love and good vibes your way. Try not to dread your treatment, and surgery and if you can think that these are just stepping stones to get to another part of your journey. If you can keep positive, I am certain this will help you. I know it will be difficult, but you can do this. One of the worst things you can do when you are facing something so very difficult is to go into fear about it. Your body feels better when it is not worrying. I bet you want to slap me in the face for saying all of this, but please, keep your chin up. Thinking of you xxx IB

I'm so sorry to hear it was not the news we were hoping for. Good luck with the surgery. I couldn't read and run, as a friend of mine has been given similar news last month, and yes I know it is scary.
