Feeling sorry for myself - sinuses

I am in so much pain with my sinuses, if I even slightly give my head it feels like it's going to explode. I am using Sudafed and steam but I have a big Christmas function on Saturday, is there any chance I'll be better by then?

Is the sudafed helping? If not, get to the gp. It could be an infection and anti-bs will clear it up.

I wouldn't bother using Sudafed, as annoying as it is let it clear up on its own.
I have problems with my sinuses and although Sudafed is good I just become immune to it after a few days, and I've noticed it takes me twice as long to get better when I take medicine.

Can't answer whether or not it will be gone by Sat, I would suggest stop taking it for now and if you still feel crap on Sat take the Sudafed.

Boots own brand headache and blocked nose tablets are great. I've had 3 days of pain and today is much better!

The sudafed doesn't seem to be touching it so I will stop other and see how that goes.

It's odd because I don't have a blocked or runny nose and I thought it would all come together. It looks like a trip to the dr is needed for a/bs which I don't normally like taking.

Ibuprofen can help. A doctor will prescribe a steroid spray too if you can't get it cleared up by yourself.

try online for A Vougal a herbal remedy called Plantago
you take 15 drops in a little water 3 times a day
cost approx £9 per bottle works wonders

I've just gotten over almost three weeks of really bad pain and headaches. had antibiotics, steroid spray and prescription strength co codomol (paracetomol and codeine, only thing that touched the pain) so i am afraid it might go on for longer :-(

Have you tried karvol capsules with the ?steam

I haven't tried karvol don't know why I didn't think of that. I can't get over how painful this is!

I just took Neurofen and drank loads of water and mine went away in a couple of days. Was the worst pain ever at its peak though - I remember sitting at my desk at work sobbing.

I now have labyrinthitis too. Always get them together!

Spewed from it at work, then stood up too quickly and passed out.

Poor you giraffe that sounds horrid.

It's like a miracle for me today. The pressure has reduced loads and I can feel it draining down the back of my throat boak but it's better than the alternative. Fingers crossed I'm on the mend.

Urgh, sinus drip is horrible. I'm suffering from that at mo and it makes me nauseous and my stomach feels sour.

The only medication that works for me is Nuerofen Cold and Flu. It is amazing. Sudafed never worked.

Nurofen cold & flu helps with my sinus pain - slightly odd side effect though, it makes me feel really cold! Sudafed never touches the pain, but makes me feel nauseous. You can take paracetamol as well as the nurofen (washed down with Pepsi max or red bull if really desperate)

This is a bit late but have you tried a neti pot or similar to rinse your sinuses?

I got a Neilmed Sinuse rinse with saline sachets for £10 from amazon last year and it's massively helped my sinuses. You are only rinsing the front sinus cavity but it is amazing to flush out all that gunk.

I now do it any time I feel a bit snotty and so far so good. It's only saline rinsing through so can't make it any worse

A good oil burner and a blend of tea tree, lavender and eucalyptus works for me - after about 4 hours you can feel it clearing.
