I always used to have a flu jab, but it always coincided with me getting a bout of mild flu a short time afterwards... ie sore throat, ache muscles, generally feeling ill, and ill enough to be off work... it happened several times and I decided against having it again..
My mum had the flu jab last week, and is experiencing the same symptoms, this happened to her last year as well.
I just wondered if this was a common side effect with other people too? as I was told that it can't give you flu as its not a live vaccine...

so If you've had the same symptoms, please share them with me

Ah I was going to resurrect this old thread but see someone's done it, had my flu jab the week before last, couple of days later aching all over and really tired.was then ok for a day, now have a horrid horrid cold that the whole family have, but they barely have a sniffle while I've been out of it for days. Just attempted to getup today now back in bed. I'm wondering whether my immune system being busy with the flu business has overloaded it and I'm not able to cope with this mild other thing?

No problem with the flu jab apart from a sore arm. No problems either for anyone else I know that’s had it this year.

I had the flu jab twice and each time was poorly enough with flu-like symptoms to having no choice but to go off sick, 2 and 3 days each time.

I'm tired of people telling me that it can't be the jab. I am very healthy and can't remember the last time I had a virus beyond a mild cold, yet I felt horrible each time, only 24-48h after the jab.

I get the jab through work, to reduce the chances of being off ill, so it really defeats the point of having it in the first place. I've decided not to again this year, and colleagues are looking at me like I'm being precious (not patient/customer facing role). I'm really not, I just don't want to take the risk to feel like crap again.
