Erm, that's it really. I've got one, it's new and it seems to hurt. How bad do they have to be before the dr will do anything about them?

And what do they actually do? Inject something? Or take them out?

Most PCTs no longer offer treatment for varicose veins. If you have private medical insurance they will only be covered if the surgeon can show a clinical need. I have had surgery, but only when I had eight on each leg. I had a vein strips after my surgeon made the case including the statement the worst case in someone under 40 he had ever seen,

I have very poor genetics for veins and 5 years later I have more. Not painful yet, but I guess in another 5 years I will be having another surgery.
