Yes i have [ and still do ]> I had it because of a disc problem. It used to start in my bum ,and go all the way down my leg even into my toes.I have to say at its worse it was awful.I had anti inflams and different painkillers, which didnt seem to do much good and i was due to have an epidural when it started to go from my foot so my doc decided to leave well alone. It did take a long time until i didnt have the awful pain, but was told i had to learn to live with it.This was over ten years ago now and i do get little bouts of it even now.But nowhere near as bad as it was ,a couple of days and its gone again. On the other hand i have a friend who is waiting for her apt for her second operation, but her first one was over 20yrs ago.Hopefully with the right treatment the pain will lessen. One thing i was told not to sit for more than 20 mins at a time and i was excused jury service because of this.I found rubbing tiger balm helped relieve it a bit. But you do need to go and see your doc.good luck i feel for you

If you are able, take regular brufen or another anti-inflammatory as the anti-inflammatory action should settle it down. Keep moving as much as you can and like mummylin says; don't sit still for too long. Lie in preference to sitting. Lie down by sitting on the edge of the bed and lowering down onto your side. Similar to sit up pushing with your arm. This should be what the GP would say too.
I would see a physio, but if it is very acute and irritable wait a few days.

Oh no so it sounds like that's DEFO what I have? Sad
I can't take ibuprofen as I'm asthmatic, I think I'll take a trip to the chemist after work to keep me going until I get to docs Monday.

I walk about six miles a day and although its REALLY hurting I'm still doing it as I know this will help.... But my god it's so painful and uncomfortable! I'm waddling like I was in pregnancy!

Poor you. You could ease off on the walking a bit if you're going that far!
Hot shower or heat pad can reduce the muscle spasm as well. I hope it eases up quickly for you and that you find a helpful pharmacist.

I can't really ease off ten walking as I'm a childminder and most of the walking is necessity (school and nursery runs)........I could get the kids to wheel me up there?! ;)

Jus as an afterthought ,i paid to go and see a chiropractor and i went twice a week for 8 weeks.then they decided to give me an xray and found the disc had slipped,so all the weeks i had been paying were a waste of time ! if it turns out to be a back problem.Do be careful how you get in a car.Do not climb in as usual, sit your bum down first then swing your legs in.I also got a tens machine as i would of done anything at that time.

Smeeeinit · 22/11/2012 19:37

Ahh thank you. Smile
I was considering a tens machine.
The numbness in my bum is SO annoying!!!!!
