just got the forms through for the Harefield fun run, and i'd like to actually run it this year instead of walking round it with the children. is that possible? how do i start? what sort of training will i need?

do you have a local high inpact areobics class you can do once a week? i found that it did wonders for me. that and a run once/twice a week once you've got used to the areobics.

Good luck

i have no idea. I am very unfit atm, am 14stone 12 this week (losing weight), so ideally need to exercise more. even a gentle jog would satisfy me this year Grin

Definitely.

Start out walking until you feel comfortable with a brisk pace.

Look at the \link{http://www.raceforlife.org\race for life} website for a training plan. You have loads of time so can probably do 2 weeks on each week of the programme.

Good luck :)

Definitely enough time.

Start your training by doing a fastish walk, then move on to walk/run (alternatiing every x minutes), and then jogging. At jogging speed you should still be able to talk comfortably. Then if you dfeel like going faster, try a bit faster but carefully.

cheers. will have to try and find a babysitter, or learn to jog with the buggy.

Have you a jogging buggy? Could try with that.

i guess i could start with doing circuits round the garden.
