Flu Shot Question

Last year, both dd and I were sick a great deal. I was determined not to have another winter like that (if it could be prevented), so got flu jabs for both of us in November. Since then, I've had a few days of feeling slightly unwell, but nothing major. DD had 4 or 5 days of tummy bug/general aches, but that's it. Wondering if we've simply been luckier this year, if it's down to her resistance being stronger, or if the flu jabs should be credited.

For those of you who had flu shots this year - were you sick less this winter? Do you think having the jab made a difference in your ability to ward off illness?

I was horribly, horribly sick this winter with something very much like flu (but not the actual flu, which I wouldn't have caught). It certainly effectively demonstrated to me why having a flu jab is a good idea for people with respiratory issues.

It only makes a difference to you catching the particular type of flu you have been vaccinated against, nothing else.

My dd had flu and pneumovax jabs this winter. She's had a lot of infections but they have stayed off her chest. Woohoo!!

She did have some surgery in November though followed by a wound infection and I think fighting that laid her low against the other stuff.

No help there really eh Earlybird?
