I have a rare gum problem that I was told I would have to get my teeth taken out by time I was 25. I am petrified of dentists and havent been in over 3yrs. Anyways I am now 28 and am 99% sure my front four bottom teeth need to be taken out. The thought of going to the dentist makes me feel sick. I know I have to as I also havent taken DS who is now 2.5yrs.

The dentist I had when I was 16 filled all my back teeth, I can't believe they were that bad. He was a looney! Ask a few people whete they go, if you are able to change. If you get sedated do you get local anasthetic too? But they use a gel now which means you don't feel the injection going in, if you hate that bit. Also, take your son at some point, my kids aren't scared of the dentist which is brilliant. And my dd's brace man has spaceage premises, things have moves on. Wish they could make us grow new teeth though.

I never used to have a problem with goin to the dentist but as my teeth have got more sensitive over the years it got worse going, then I had a few horrible sessions with a dentist that everyone said was great. I thought it was just me that thought he wasn't so good. Until MIL registered with a brand new practice, they are all quite young dentists and are trained in all the latest techniques and don't expect you to suffer, its all new and sparkly and the kids like it too. Maybe because we go to the little cafe across the road for hot chocolate and buns after Blush.

P.S. sedation is great, its like being a little tipsy. But make sure you get the person with you to take charge of the aftercare notes and has means to pay, I had to pay after and the could have got me to sign for £1,000,000 and I would have.

I put my aftercare notes in my pocket and didn't realise I had them I didn't know that I shouldn't rinse it straight away and ended up over doing it and leaving the socket exposed, quick trip to local dentist and she sorted me out with a pack to get it healing properly.
