I was messing around with the kids and fell on my bum. I was able to get up and walk away from it which makes me think it is not broken or fractured but that was over a week ago now and it is definitely NOT better!

It hurts like hell but only in certain positions.

I have a tubby 1 yo dc who is not yet walking and I probably carry him around more than I should. My kids come into bed with me at night and I alwaus wake upin an uncomfy, squashed position, neither of which are helping are they?

I haven't been to the doctor because I don't think there is anything he/she can do and so it would be an added hassle for no outcome. Am I right there?

Is there anything I can do? I am desperate! And I am missing exercise too (used to be a regular runner) but to be honest that is the least of my worries.

It is making me so miserable :(

Mine still hurts 12 years on. When you sit down and then lean back , grinding over it - agony. Then repeat, getting up. I have flares of it, so periods of it getting better and then worse. hopefully yours will be a nice quick healing coccyx - my chiropractor helps a bit. Don;t get a doughnut blow up pillow to sit on - really bad for forcing your pelvic organs down into the gap, if you know what I mean. A really good cushion thing is this www.activator.com/products-page/pain-relievers/backtivator/

It is awesome and it doesn't hurt as much when I sit and drive.

I fractured mine as a student. Agony for a week, got much better by using pain killers and gentle exercise - I was very fit at the time and I think that helped as having a strong core pulled the hip joint together.

Try leap frogging Ibuprofenand paracetemol, totally fine whilst breastfeeding. Also be very conscious of posture and squeeze your bum cheeks together when getting up, sItting for lo.ng eriods and walking. Get better soon!

There is a wedge cushion of some comfy material that has a cutout for your tailbone. I bought it for my DIL. She broke her tailbone during childbirth, twice.
