I know this is a rather dull question but humour me. Home First Aid kit/Medicine cabinet, what's in yours?

Am v much in one of those "prepping for emergencies mode" atm
Just bought a fire blanket off ebay.

Now looking as to what we may be missing out on having around the house

Have those Boots standard first aid kits that we take on holiday
Also have:

Plasters (kids and adults)
Savlon creme
Dettol liquid
Germolene
dioralyte
Calpol
Nurofen for kids
Nurofen for adults
nurofen Syringes for easy dosing
Soluble paracetamol/codeine
Lemsip
Waspeze

What I think we need: -

Burneze
an eye bath?

what else?

I would recommend having a bottle of Piriton around in case your child or one of their friends has an allergic reaction. I believe it's useful in the emergency treatment of anaphylactic shock, if you're waiting for a paramedic to arrive, though it might be worth asking the pharmacist if I'm right on that - I'm no chemist! But it's useful for stings, chicken pox itching, stuff like that.

I have a half used out of date bottle of calpol, some antihistamines, antihistamine cream and some dubious looking plasters...... and some superglue (only in there so it is locked out of sight!!)

(oh I also have a first aid kit unopened in the car)

Ibuprofen for kids
Cough medicines (various)
Thermometer
Heat pads (for sports injuries)
Anti-histamines (two kinds, drowsy and non-drowsy)
Bio-oil (don't know why it's in there)
Germolene
Antiseptic cream
Burneze
Lemsip

And a bunch of other stuff that probably needs throwing out now.

Sudocreme is the most used thing in there!
I have all the other stuff too.
I like savlon wound wash-not essential, but makes me feel happier when they'vescraped their knees.
Use the mouth ulcer gel quite a lot too, but hardly an emergency.

Plasters/antiseptic wash/ibuprofen/parecetomol/antihistamine/sudocreme/thermomter and an old prescriptoin of codeine for those omg 'I've hurt my back and have to drive all the way home moments' is what I take on holiday.

We have a medicine cabinet (full of prescription drugs for my falling apart body)
But in the bathroom cupboard for everybody else we have...

I use Boots own antihistamine cream - seems to work ok...

Ralgex is a deep heat cream for sore muscles. I usually use it in conjunction with a nice hot water bottle when I ache after training.

I also have several bixes of anti diarrhoea medicines- never had to use them yet though. It seems to be something I buy new every time I go to furrin parts.
