Any advice on cures or remedies for the classic 'itchy bottom'?

No this is not a joke. You know the kind of itch I mean. Thankfully it's not persistent - normally occurring in the evenings. Two DDs have recently complained of an 'itchy bottom' bug have since stopped. Now mine has started and it's driving me mad!

Any advice? Help???

Sounds like classically itchy threadworms. Dose of Ovex for all the family and a bit of hoovering and cleaning should sort it out.

sounds like worms to me too. Treat everyone and wash all bedding, hoover, etc

BTW just in case....getting threadworms is a very common thing with school age children...chemist friend says she sells more bottles of Ovex than nit treatment (as she told me when I was freaking out!!!!)!

That makes sense DD1 has just started school.

I'd put money on worms.

Go see your local pharmacist - they'll sort it out, medicine wise.

Sounds like threadworms to me as well, they are more active in the evening and overnight.

If they are present you all need a dose of Ovex and then another Ovex tablet two weeks later.

Thanks all. Off to the chemist to politely request some Ovex. I didn't really fancy standing at the counter saying 'itchy bottom'.
