After this baby I need to loose lots of weight

This will be my 2nd and last baby. I want to set myself some reasonable targets and maybe a challenge. I am not sporty at all so need something I will stick to.

Any ideas how to start, how soon and ideas what to do?

Thanks

I started when DD2 was 12 weeks old. I joined a club and went from there. I was breastfeeding which speeded up the weight loss.
Wait until you've had your 6 week check at least.

Yes and it will take me that long to even start finding a routine for the kids, let alone some time for me!!!!!

My dd is 6 months today - and I've only realy started to lose weight and get into a routine - I go to Slimming World - its good because I get to eat loads!

I've just had my 2nd baby - he's 13 weeks old. I've been going to the gym about twice a week since he was 6 weeks old. About 3 weeks ago a joined a friendly netball team - nothing competative just a bunch of women wanting to get fit.

As of Monday I am starting weight watchers too - thats the most depressing part for me as i love food - especially stuff thats bad for you!

I would aim to loose small amounts at a time and don't be too harsh on yourself. Remember not to push yourself too hard as well as you'll be tired from looking after the baby.

I quite enjoy going to the gym - it gives me an hour to myself to clear my head.

Thanks for the encouragement.

As a non sporty kinda girl. Any ideas what I might like to stick at. I dont have many options for someone to look after the kids so that does restrict me. I also plan to go back to work at either 6/9 months

Do you have a set amount of weight that you want to lose? I have found it better to go for half a stone at a time. If your targets are too big then you get disheartened!

Not yet as its difficult to say how much I will have to loose in September. Yes its a long way off but I want to mentally work towards this too. IYSWIM. I was thinking of weighing myself a week after the baby has been born. Then aiming for an average of a 1lb a week until Christmas. Then re-assessing.

Will no2 be close in age to no1? Even brisk walking with a buggy will burn some of the baby weight. After my no4 I had very little if any child free time; I made the most of walking lots of places, as briskly as possible. Also if you try to stay active during the pregnancy that really helps too; nothing fancy, just any sort of moving about ! I lost the weight within a fortnight and then it was a case of toning up by doing lots of ab crunches. Two years down the line I'm just finding time for the gym again, but really I relied on walking.

DD will be 2 the same week the new baby is due. Yes I am expecting that lots of walking will be key. However over the winter it may not be walking sort of weather! Wet cold etc. I like swimming but may be too tired to do that after DH gets home. I cant remember what it was like to not be tired. And I dont suppose it will get any better.
