Can someone hold my hand while I wait for fentons procedure/mini pelvic floor repair?

I saw the pelvic floor specialist today!
Back history, I have 2 dcs, both straightforward home births. After the first I had a 2nd degree tear, stitched up at home by a dodgy midwife with a tremor in her hands! I thought everything was ok although my perineum was sore for a long time (at least 10 months) and it felt like my insides might fall out when I strained to do a poo. Things improved over time and I conceived dc2 when dd was 21 months.
As soon as I got pregnant I got bunged up (constipated) and the "falling out" feeling came back with a vengeance when I strained to go. Went to gp and was diagnosed with rectocele.
After another vaginal birth (with no tears and no stitches, yey), the gp referred me to the gynae clinic for follow up. Ds is now 10 weeks. I saw the pelvic floor specialist today. He says the muscles on the posterior vaginal wall tore during the first birth and weren't stitched properly, also I have a ridge on my perineum which will always be sore and non-stretchy. So he has proposed to cut and re-stitch the muscles and get rid of the ridge.
He can do it under local so I can go home same day and still breastfeed ds.
I've said yes, please tell me I'm doing the right thing? Am I likely to get a good outcome? Any similar experiences gratefully received.

Hi hun, I haven't got any advice, or any knowledge about this, but I will hold your hand. I hope you feel better soon, and that everything goes well. xx

Thanks for your responses and encouragement. The problem is that I can manage ok at the moment and am worried if anything goes wrong it could get worse. But hopefully it will all be ok and I will be better. Fingers crossed.
