Ganglion cyst - wrist

I had a c section 6 months back and have had a cyst on my wrist since the past 4 months. The doc says its probably because of a leak during the c sec time. Those fluids they inject, some of that leaked and has formed the cyst.

Doc says i should let it be and it will go away in a yr or so. But it hurts quite a bit. And with a 6 month old to pick up every now n then, it isnt getting any better. In the mornings its like my hand is stuck :(

Anyone had this? There is an injection to dissolve it but there is a high chance it will come back (doc said so n i read this too).

I've one on my hand which comes and goes. It can be really painful at times and was much worse just after having my dd2. I think it was pushing the double pram.

My friend had a big one (like half a ping pong ball) on her wrist which went after she smacked it on the ground falling on an icey path.

Yours might settle down and become less painful.

I have one on my left wrist from doing my finals in Uni (8 years ago!). A type of repetitive friction cyst I think. It was agony at the time.
Its at the top of my wrist bang in the middle (wear your watch face would be).
I went to see a very expensive consultant who said don't bother doing anyting. A drain would only be short term as it would reoccur. An operation would leave a nasty scar and it would probably also reoccur.
Its been there for 8 years now and occasionally hurts but usually I'm not aware of it. I have felt it when playing tennis or using my wrists in yoga (downward facing dog hurts it). But its not a big deal.

I've got one on my left wrist, from manoeuvring the pushchair up and down very steep hills.

My DM has had some surgically removed and says they come back as it is an RSI (repetitive strain injury), they come and go if there is more/ less strain on the area.

I had one on the inside/top of my right wrist for a few years on two occasions, and both times they just disappeared although they were pretty annoying and rather unsightly. An old wives' tale is to hit them with a bible to "disperse" the contents!
