Why would my period be early?! Pain as well - should I be worried?

5 days early, I was due on the 11th. Normally I'm around 28 days and really predictable, the last few months have been 19th, 17th, 15th, 13th... This caught me by surprise!

Also been getting a lot of pain in my ovaries over the last couple of months. I have been generally unwell (possible CFS/ME) so had just put it down to that. Smear test last month came back clear.

Any ideas? Too scared to google :(

You could be synchronising with another woman, my period fluctuates by more than 5 days since I came off the Depo Provera jab 3 years ago , it was usually synchronising with one of my friends.

I've heard about that happening (and Amy keeps going on about it in big bang theory :o) but would it be someone I'm very close to? (I'm a loner)

Never been on any hormonal contraception BTW

Mine tends to come at the most inconvenient possible time, my shortest was 21 days, longest 30, usually around 24-25.
It's not necessarily someone you're emotionally close to, just in proximity to for prolonged amounts of time.
Even sitting next to someone in an office or on long commutes can do it, if it's repeated enough.

It's so weird! I do work full time now (although have been off sick/on reduced hours over summer) so maybe that's it Confused

I was wondering if it was stress (have a lot to worry about ATM) but I thought that delayed it instead. I'm at the doctors anyway on Tuesday so I will mention the pain (been putting it off as I hate any examination in that area...)

What did the doc say?

fuzzpig · 11/09/2012 20:12

He said nothing to worry about thanks. :) described the pain, and he asked about bleeding etc. I have just had blood tests due to the CFS and they have all come back clear so he just said to keep an eye on it.

You may have hit the nail on the head though - DSD was round at the weekend and it appears we are synchronised. That's right. I am that good a stepmum. :o

I'm glad it all worked out and you got to the bottom of it.
All's well that ends well.
