Loose poo in mornings and fed up. What will help, any ideas?

Really getting fed up of this. Since just before Christmas have had this problem on and off. So I can be ok for a couple of weeks, then I might have loose poo every am for the next week. I wake up most mornings feeling nauseous whether my tummy is going to be funny or not. I have also recently recognised that I have some kind of anxiety/ panic disorder although I am going to be getting CBT soon and am doing well atm anyway as I've read up about it and am making changes :). However, I beginning to think maybe my tummy symptoms aren't related. It's not a particularly stressful week yet my tummy is not good.

I will go back to the GP next week but I wondered if anything might help- peppermint tea, yakult stuff? Never tried any of it. I have always been on the constipated end of the scale before (since childhood). Much more preferable as I just controlled it with eating lots of fruit/veg.

The really weird thing is that I'm not passing wind in the day much at all Blush. Tmi I know but this is the opposite to the normal me too!!! Just feel so out of sorts Confused

I am going through the exact same, it started at Christmas I was really ill Xmas day and through the Xmas break, then I was fine for a week, then I was ill again.
The doctor did blood tests and my inflammation markers were slightly raised to 17, my platelets were slightly elevated and I did a stool test which has showed high inflammation.
I have had the worst anxiety and been taking Sertraline for just over 2 weeks, I am starting to feel like myself now.
I have been having 2 loose stools every morning without pain or cramping and then fine for the rest of the day but I’m not sure if it’s my anxiety.
The doctor wants me to have a colonoscopy which I really do not want, I have been referred to the gastroenterologist but my appointment isn’t until July!!
I was signed off work for 4 weeks and they are arranging some CBT for health anxiety.
I am taking a fermented turmeric supplement to hopefully bring down the inflammation myself and ask for a repeat test to avoid the camera.
I am relieved that I am not on my own and after reading this thread I am even more convinced I am fine and the anxiety has just taken over.

@AlexAD88 Hi I am also having similar symptoms. How are you now and what are the findings of ur tests?

Hi, I’ve just come across this thread. Everything everyone has said is literally what I’ve been experiencing for the past two years. Have been to the GP and they have just said it might be IBS. but all the same symptoms as said here, loose stools in the morning, nausea and all worsened by the cycle of anxiety and the affects that has on the stomach and guts.

just wondering how you’re doing now? And if you’d found anything that’s helped?
been told to try and remove wheat from my diet for 4 weeks and see if that helps but yet to find anything else to help! Any suggestions?

xx

@beccajane your gp needs to run some tests before they decide you have IBS if they haven’t already. If they haven’t, Don’t stop eating wheat, they should (as per NICE guidelines) test you for coeliac antibodies. If you aren’t eating wheat you will get a false negative. They should also run some tests to rule out anything like IBD- inflammatory markers like ESR and CRP, plus a full blood count. It can be a complete nightmare to get them to take you seriously with this sort of thing, be persistent and keep pushing.
