Colposcopy/Cervical Biopsy - Late period?

I've recently had a Cervical Biopsy after having CIN 3 result on my smear test. The biopsy was roughly when I would have been due to Ovulate - mid cycle. I am now a few days late for my period and wondered if anyone knew if all the messing around with the Cervix would cause late periods?

I'm probably a bit oversensitive at the moment as waiting the results so looking for anything out of the ordinary but any advice appreciated.

I have had the same and had an early periond followed by a late one, so think its normal for your cycle to be disturbed. Hope your results are ok

I had the same experience as 3teen with my periods after a loop excision following cin 3, early period followed by late. The waiting is the worst thing, Hope you're ok. When are your results due?

Thanks for the replies, that's reassuring!!!

The results are due any day now, Then I'll get the appointment to go back for treatment. I'm not sure yet what treatment i'll be needing but she said I'd definately need treatment and it seemed to be quite a large area.

When she did the punch biopsy she was there for ages and I was getting more and more sore. I thought she was done and then she said - Oh these aren't cutting! She then went through 3 pairs of sissors until she got a pair to get the 2 biopsy's by which time i was going through the roof!

I really then suffered with cramping for the next 2 days and could barely walk - I am now really terrified about the treatment!!!

Don't be terrified, they will really numb you and you could always get some Valium from your gp to get through it? I had a large area too and was really freaked out like you but once it's done it's done an the likelihood of it returning is minimal. Make sure you rest a lot after you have it done and treat yourself.
