or
booze
chocolate
stay in bed

LOL at suggestion of taking up martial arts for angry women.

nailpolish · 16/03/2006 13:13

thanks everyone - and kama for all the tips

i have a copper coil as i am trying to avoid any artificial hormone shit

but i gives me heavy periods which makes me even more crabby

(sorry for swearing but it helps)

so primrose oil? i always thought that was for the menopause

dh is always telling me to get out for walks on my own when he gets in from work

and i think i could/should cut down on the salt

thing is, i never feel hungry during AF

just drink tea (and gin) (though not together)

is there a name for this? everything i read about pmt says it stops when your period starts, when my crabbiness (and other symptoms) starts when my period starts

dp finds that stocking up the house with chocoate and buying me nice bath stuff keeps me happy (or at least out of the way in the bath)

a friend of mine used to physically attack her husband - she chased him with a milk bottle, kitchen knife and a hot iron. he had to literally pin her to the floor til she came to her senses.

Mazzystar · 16/03/2006 13:33

could you use an iron supplement maybe? are you tired out when you have it and therefore more irritable? whilst my post seemed flippant both red wine and chocolate have some benefits if this is the case.

might be worth a chat with a homeopath - i took sepia for a while to help with balancing the effect of hormone levels - wouldn't self-prescribe - but they may have a helpful suggestions

nailpolish · 16/03/2006 13:34

omg dolly Shock

i try not to eat chocolate, actually i dont eat much during AF as i dont feel hungry. feel sick quite often, and too bloated to eat

and i would love a bath, but the only time really i can do this is in the evening, but dd's are in bed and the taps make a horrendous noise in the bath and it would wake them up

sorry this is turning into np's moan-fest

nailpolish · 16/03/2006 13:35

oh thanks mazzy i didnt think of iron Smile

if you're going to try it - spatone or floradix are much easier on the tummy than anything the doc will prescribe.

and np if you don't eat much, and feel sick, there could be a bit of low blood sugar tiredness too, maybe?

nailpolish · 16/03/2006 14:00

have taken notes mazzy, of your recommendations

thanks

sometimes i get a half hr to myself, and i sit down with a cup of tea, but i just get pissed off and restless

maybe that is low sugar? oh god who knows

im just a crab and thats it!

floradix says its non-constipating - good - i had iron before and constipated. and it has vit B which a friend has recommended

thanks again mazzy, im going to try that first

NP - Recently had to go to breast clinic to get something suspicious checked out, anyway, ended up talking to the consultant for ages about sore boobies, hormones, periods and the like, and she recommended taking primrose oil daily.

nailpolish · 16/03/2006 14:04

oh mmh are you alright??

OP posts:
madmarchhare · 16/03/2006 14:07

Yes thanks, I meant to add that it was a hormonal/cycle related thing and that she was 100% happy that everything was OK.

nailpolish · 16/03/2006 14:08

oh that must have been a relief

glad you are ok

and thanks for the tip
